Directorate Change

A&R announces that Mr. Robin Andrews, Chairman of the Company, and Dr. Tom Elder, Non-executive director of the Company, are both retiring from the board of the Company with effect from 31st January 2009.

Mr. Andrews is the founder of A&R and was responsible for obtaining the exploration licence for the Company's principal asset, the Black Angel mine in Greenland. He initiated the transformation of the Company from its initial focus on exploration to its current objective of becoming a successful international mining company. 

As one of the original Cominco team which first drilled at the prospect that subsequently became the Black Angel Mine, Dr. Elder has added significant value to the recent exploration effort. 

The board would like to thank both Mr. Andrews and Dr. Elder for their contribution to the Company. 

Given the present state of the economic climate, the decision has been reached that their respective roles will, for the time being, be absorbed by the remaining members of the Board.   In due course A&R will recruit additional directors with appropriate background and qualifications.

Mr Andrews comments:

"It is with mixed feelings that I have decided to step down as Chairman of Angus & Ross plc but I feel that it is now time for a change. The new management team led by our CEO, Mr. Nick Hall, with the crucial support of Cyrus Capital Partners is now fully capable of successfully developing the Black Angel project.

I am now convinced that the Company will survive these very difficult times and that shareholders' fortunes will be reversed. We have one of the world's richest zinc/lead deposits in what I believe will become a proven zinc "province".  Greenland is a mining friendly country with an exciting future.

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the shareholders for their support and also all directors and employees, both past and present, who have worked tirelessly to keep the dream of creating a successful mining company alive. We pass on the baton to the new team which, I believe, has every chance of making that dream a reality."
